Biographie

Musicien éclectique et passionné, Florian Caroubi aborde avec enthousiasme aussi bien le répertoire de piano seul que la musique de chambre, l’accompagnement de chanteurs ou encore la direction d’orchestre.

Son activité musicale internationale lui permet de jouer en tant que pianiste en récital dans des salles telles que la Philharmonie de Berlin, le Concertgebouw d’Amsterdam, le Teatru Manoel à La Valette (Malte), le Flagey à Bruxelles, le grand théâtre DeSingel à Anvers, le théâtre impérial à Compiègne, le Palais du Tau à Reims, la Philharmonie de Paris, le Corum à Montpellier, l’abbaye de Sylvacane, la salle Molière à Lyon ou encore les opéras de Lille, Marseille ou de Lyon.

Puisant la richesse de son univers musical dans la rencontre et le partage avec d’autres musiciens, Florian Caroubi se produit avec des interprètes tels que le clarinettiste Nicolas Baldeyrou, la violoniste Anna Göckel, le violoncelliste François Thirault, la soprano Elsa Dreisig, les ténors John Osborn, Juan Francisco Gatell ou encore les barytons Samuel Hasselhorn, Riccardo Novaro.

Parmi ces collaborations variées et inspirantes, plus important est encore son duo avec Adèle Charvet, mezzo-soprano, avec laquelle il se produit très régulièrement en France et à l’étranger depuis bientôt 10 ans. Il obtient avec cette dernière le Prix de la Mélodie au concours international Nadia et Lili Boulanger et le premier prix ainsi que quatre prix spéciaux au concours international IVC (Pays-Bas). Il enregistre de nombreux CD, largement récompensés (Choc de Classica, TTTT Télérama, 5 diapasons, etc.), pour différents labels (Hortus, la Boîte à Pépites, Alpha, etc.)

Ses activités de chef d’orchestre l’amènent à prendre la direction permanente de l’orchestre symphonique Lunae. Il est par ailleurs plusieurs fois invité en Malaisie où il dirige en particulier La Bohème de Puccini et Carmen de Bizet, et travaille régulièrement comme assistant du chef d’orchestre à l’Opéra de Lyon. Il est également professeur de la classe d’accompagnement du CNSMD de Lyon, ainsi que professeur assistant de la classe de piano de Jonas Vitaud au CNSMD de Paris.

An eclectic musician, Florian Caroubi is enthusiastic about a broad scope of repertoires and styles, whether it be for solo piano, chamber music, accompaniment for singers or orchestral conducting.

As piano soloist, he has performed in venues such as the Berlin Philarmony, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Flagey in Brussels, the Teatru Manoel in Valletta (Malta), the Theater De Singel in Anvers, or in France, the Silvacane Abbey, the Salle Molière, the Corum in Montpellier, the Opera and the Auditorium in Lyon, the Opera in Lille, the Théâtre imperial de Compiègne, the Palais du Tau in Reims, etc.

Passionate about meeting and sharing with other musicians and possessing a wide variety of skills, Florian Caroubi has collaborated with interpreters such as the clarinetist Nicolas Baldeyrou, the violinist Anna Göckel, the cellist François Thirault, the sopranos Elsa Dreisig and Nadine Koutcher, the tenors John Osborn and Juan Francisco Gatell, the baritones Hans Pieter Herman.

Among these various and inspiring collaborations, even more important is his duo with the mezzo-soprano Adèle Charvet with whom he performs frequently in France and abroad since almost 10 years. The duo received the Prix de la Mélodie at the international lied competition Nadia and Lili Boulanger (Paris), and the first prize and four special prizes (for the interpretation of the contemporary piece, by the press jury, by the junior jury, and by the Dutch association friends of the Lied) at the international competition IVC in s’Hertogenbosch (the Netherlands).
